Pastor David Griffith

Pastor David E. Griffith received his elementary and secondary education on the island of Barbados. He served several Church of God congregations in his home country on both local and national ventures with his musical ability. This led him to attend Anderson University, in Anderson, IN where he graduated with honors in June 1985 (BA in Music Education and Education). While in Anderson, he was a member of the AC Male Chorus, Assistant Director of the Wind Ensemble, and Student Director of the Concert Band. He relocated to Philadelphia, entered Temple University and graduated in May 1989 with a Masters in Music Education.

“Pastor Dave” became the second principal of High Street Christian Academy, succeeding Rev. A. Donald Fredlund, and held this position from 1987-1993. During this time, the school advanced in excellence, activities, and enrollment. The school closed its doors in 2010.  In 2019, Pastor Dave retired from his position of the Manager of Testing and Operations at Temple University.

Pastor Dave faithfully served High Street Church of God as Sunday School Teacher and Minister of Music. He answered God’s call to pastoral ministry and was ordained in December 1992. He served as Assistant Pastor of High Street Church of God under the leadership of Pastor Van A. Copeland. He also preached at several of the Delaware Valley Churches of God.

Pastor Dave became Pastor of High Street Church of God on March 21, 2004. As the Lord would have it, the former principal of High Street Christian Academy became the pastor on “ACADEMY DAY”.

Pastor Dave is committed to the vision God gave him of moving High Street Church of God forward and upward to being a tower of strength in the community and in the body of Christ.

His motivating Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5,6, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths”

Pastor Dave’s lovely wife, Jean, joins him in ministry.

They are the proud parents of two sons,
David Ryan and Michael Elliott
